We all know that ‘NOKIA’ is the best and largest telecommunication seller. They always have three cell phone orders in a single blink around the world. Why they keep such an amazing record? I personally think they got the essence of telecommunication, which manifested by their noted slogan –Connecting People. That’s the way they serve people, and that’s the reason people support them. I find a coincidence in the language study. If you do wanna master a certain language, no matter English, Spanish, or French, you really got to learn this language by your heart and then use it in your life. ‘Connect with English’ has a dual meaning: literally means keep a connection with the English language, just like connect with somebody. On the other hand, it also means using the way of English to connect people. Both are important. Here I would like to share my language learning experience and spread my advice to you. Most Chinese students are fundamentally somewhat scared of talking with international persons. No matter they’re teachers, co-workers or friends, seems there’s a culture barrier in-between, and the most headachy thing is language nonproficiency. Most of us are afraid of discomfiture and don’t know how to break the ice as the embarrassed situation comes. But here, you should know the fiercest foe of language study is lacking communication. We don’t have to feel shy when we’re facing strangers, no matter they are fellowmen or foreigners, just chat with them, you can talk about anything as long as you want him or her to be your friend. I personally think one of the first things to be accomplished in talking to people is to put them at ease. Most of us are naturally shy when we’re talking to someone we haven’t met before or talking in public for the first time. I figure it’s worth remembering that almost all of us started out the same way. Very few of us started out to be wealthy and powerful, unless you’re a member of select group or upper class families. The majority of us started out as kids of middle income families or less. We worked as part-timer to pay for college, but chances are the people we’re talking to did the same way. Now maybe you’re not as rich or as famous as they are, or as successful in our field, but we probably come from fundamentally the same backgrounds. So we can related as brothers and sisters. You don’t have to stand straight there feeling inferior. You belong in that surrounding just as much as the person you’re talking to. It also helps you to overcome your shyness if you remember that the person you’re talking to is probably just as shy as you are. Actually most of people are. No matter black, blonde or blue hair, that’s the way it is. Reminding yourself of this will do wonders for your ability to shed your shyness. Whether you’re at a class, party, dinner, meeting your new neighbors, in first day on the job, or in anyone of a billion different settings, the subjects that you can open a conversation with is almost unlimited. If you’re at a party in someone’s home or even an office, there’re likely to have furniture, mementos, pictures that your host will cheerfully talk about. Is there a picture of them in front of Eiffel Tower? Ask them about the trip to Paris. Is there a colorful drawing on the wall? Ask them which of their children drew it? See, there’re loads of subjects and chances for you to grab and start a wonderful conversation with someone you knew absolutely zero before. Take my advice and I am sure you can grab the chance and talk to people around the world with not only one language!
